About me

Welcome – my name is Paul Dascalu

I am a psychotherapist with a background in psychology from Ovidius University in Constanța and a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Liverpool. My journey in this field has also included four years of training in integrative psychotherapy, which enables me to adapt my approach to each individual’s unique needs.

I offer support with a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:

  • Grief and loss
  • Family and relationship issues
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relocation and cultural adjustment, especially for people who have moved from abroad

My approach is deeply personal and collaborative. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. I see therapy as a journey – and I am here to be a travel companion on your path, supporting you through the challenges or changes you may face.

If you are ready to take the first step, I am here to walk the path with you.

Areas of Therapy

I offer individual psychotherapy sessions, tailored to your personal needs and life circumstances. My approach is integrative, meaning that I draw on multiple therapeutic methods to best support you in your journey toward insight, healing, and growth. Here are the areas I specialize in:

A loss can shake your entire foundation. Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one or experiencing another form of profound loss, I offer a safe and compassionate space where you can process your emotions, find meaning, and move forward at your own pace—without pressure or judgment.

Family relationships can be a great source of support—but also of conflict and pain. In our sessions, we work on communication, boundaries, entrenched patterns, or challenges related to divorce, blended families, or parenting. The goal is greater understanding and healthier relationships.

If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or completely exhausted, you are not alone. I help those experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, or prolonged stress—focusing both on the underlying causes and practical tools to regain balance and vitality.

Moving to a new country is a major upheaval—both practically and emotionally. You may miss home, feel lonely, or feel caught between two cultures. I offer therapy with an understanding of the challenges and identity questions that can come with life as an expatriate.

Support for Relocation and Cultural Adjustment

Moving to a new city or country can be both exciting and overwhelming. Along with the practical challenges of settling in, relocation often brings emotional stress, feelings of isolation, and the need to adapt to unfamiliar cultural norms. Whether you’ve moved for work, family, education, or personal reasons, these transitions can affect your sense of identity, belonging, and well-being.

Together, we’ll explore your experiences, address feelings of homesickness or culture shock, and build strategies to help you feel more grounded and connected in your new environment. Our work may focus on:

  • Coping with the emotional stress of change and uncertainty
  • Navigating cultural differences and communication challenges
  • Rebuilding routines, support systems, and a sense of home
  • Strengthening resilience and confidence in new surroundings

You don’t have to navigate this transition alone. With compassionate guidance, you can create a smoother adjustment, maintain your well-being, and embrace the opportunities that come with change.
